From US, Canada To Belize :

From the USA and Canada: Delta, American , USA and Continental and TACA fly into Belize City. When checking airline rates , keep in mind that reservation made too far in advance are often much higher than those a few months ahead. Kayak.com is a very good resource as will as American Airlines search by utilizing the schedule and rate function

To and From Cancun :

Mayan Island Air offers flights from Cancun and Mexico. Sometimes it is less expensive to fly to Cancun and then transfer to Maya Island Air. A budget airline is USA3000  flies from many US mid-west and eastern cities to Cancun.

From Cancun one can also bus or take a public van. For the back packers and budget minded  a flight on USA3000 and a bus ride to Placencia is very ecomonical. The bus fare runs about $50. Be sure to plan 28 to 36 hours including stop-over time for the trip.   

Placencia is located in the south central part of Belize. It can be accessed by road, air and by private boat.

By Air:

An excellent resource is northern Belize website which gives contact information for airlines that service Belize.

A great way of spending frequent flyer miles is to come to Belize as airlines require as few as 35,000 miles for free passage. For paying passengers www.kayak.com is a good resource for finding the best air rates. Also suggested is using American Airline's schedule and price search option. Mayan Island Air offers service from Belize to Mexico and Honduras.

Both Maya Island Air and Tropic Air fly within Belize. Although one can reserve  and pay for reservations on-line, web reservations rarely benefit from discounts offered in person upon check in and can be substantial discount for those paying cash.
